A Study of Personal Identification Using Whirlpool Features

(in English) In recent years, the value of waste treatment facilities as educational sites has been questioned. In Japan, these facilities not only process waste but also serve as places to learn about the environment. However, their educational value is often overlooked in favor of aesthetic appeal. This study aims to quantitatively evaluate the impact of exhibits and tour routes on visitors using overhead video footage for indoor positioning and individual identification. By extracting AKAZE feature points from top-down images and using feature matching, we confirmed that individuals can be identified even at low resolutions.
