Near-Field to Far-Field Transformation and its Limitations by Using Radar Images in the Case of Constant Bistatic Angle

(in English) In this paper, we propose a bistatic near-field (NF) to far-field (FF) transformation (NFFFT) based on the existing monostatic NFFFT by using ISAR images. Simply extending the monostatic NFFFT to the bistatic does not predict the bistatic FF. For the FF prediction, we newly propose the frequency bandwidth in which the NFFFT is applied and an approximation of the frequency dependence of the target’s scattering coefficient. The proposed method requires the same number of the NF samples as the existing method and can be applied to the NF sampling when the transmitted and received waves are spherical waves, without using the monostatic-to-bistatic equivalence theorem. The transformation results by numerical simulations match the reference solution with errors of less than 2 dB at all the peaks.
