[Invited Talk] Exploring the Role of System and Control in the IoT/AI Era

(in English) With the rapid spread of IoT, social systems such as electric power systems, transportation systems, and urban systems become increasingly complex and sophisticated. In addition, the explosive increase in information obtained from various systems has led to the need to further optimize and improve social systems based on artificial intelligence (AI). This presentation introduces two results of the author's work on the contribution of system control to the advancement of social systems in the context of IoT and AI. The first is the analysis framework for dynamic systems on complex network systems based on network centrality. The analysis based on network centrality can provide the important nodes of the dynamical network system in the context of control or stabilization of the system. The second is an analysis and design method for recurrent neural networks (RNN) that contain memory units denoted by state-space representation. Some recent work indicates that RNN with memory units based on state-space representation can learn long-term dependencies of time-series data. This presentation introduces a method for designing memory units based on frequency analysis.
