Proposal of a Virtual Agent-Based Outing Information Search Service Utilizing Location Data

(in English) Japan has the highest proportion of older adults in its total population globally, and this proportion is expected to continue rising. Additionally, the number of older adults living alone has been steadily increasing, leading to a growing prevalence of loneliness and social isolation among them. To address these issues, our research group has developed a Virtual Agent Listening Service (VA Listening Service) that utilizes virtual agents to provide
listening support for homebound older adults in their daily lives. In previous studies, we implemented a community event introduction service using the VA Listening Service to deliver local event information to older adults. However, this service faced challenges due to the significant burden it placed on both administrators and users. To overcome
these challenges, this study proposes and implements an "Outing Information Search Service" by integrating the VA Listening Service with the Google Maps API. This integration reduces the burden on both administrators and users, while enabling the service to provide location information to older adults in a more visually intuitive and
comprehensible manner through the virtual agent listening platform.
