Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Distinguishing human-imitated speech from genuine speech presents a significant challenge to listeners because of their natural resemblance. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of differentiating genuine speech from human imitation through a systematic subject test. To this end, the study applies human auditory perception (HAP) to the task of distinguishing genuine from imitated speech, using a specially developed data set of human-imitated speech due to the lack of comparable publicly available datasets. A three-phase human-centered approach was used to evaluate HAP ability, and participants achieved an average accuracy of 70.10% to distinguish genuine speech from imitated speech in the final test. The result underscores the importance of human auditory perception in effectively detecting imitated speech.
