A Study on Generating Listening Motion for Embodied Conversational Agents Using Speech and Text

(in English) In recent years, there have been studies on motion generation by embodied conversational agents, which are conversational agents capable of expressing facial expressions and physical actions. However, there are few studies on the case when the conversational agent is a listener. In addition, the effects of each modal on the performance of the model have not been verified in the case of motion generation for Japanese dialogues. Therefore, in this study, we examine a model for generating listening motions of Japanese conversational agents using speech and text. Specifically, we built a model based on Learning2Listen, a previous study, and conducted an objective evaluation after learning speech and text as input.
