Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, the rapid advancement of wireless communication devices, particularly smartphones, has highlighted the necessity for the efficient evaluation of electromagnetic exposure. Accurate measurement of specific absorption rate (SAR) in the human body is ethically and technically challenging. Previous research has addressed this issue by employing highly resolution smartphone models that closely replicate the physical characteristics of real devices, thereby enabling numerical simulations for the evaluation of electromagnetic exposure. However, the increasing sophistication of modern smartphones has resulted in more intricate internal structures, which presents a significant challenge in terms of the time and cost required for detailed modeling and analysis. To address these limitations, this study proposes a novel methodology for constructing simplified smartphone models that are capable of accurately reproducing SAR distributions. The proposed approach entails the systematic arrangement of multiple tiny dipole antennas within a simplified structure, specifically designed to replicate SAR distributions. This method thus eliminates the need for labor-intensive processes, such as disassembling complex devices, performing detailed internal modeling, and antenna tuning, which are integral to conventional methods. In this paper, the validity of the proposed method was confirmed by comparing the SAR distributions of actual devices and the simplified smartphone model.
