The recent development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has connected everything to the Internet, increasing convenience but also security risks. IoT devices have limited functionality due to resource constraints, making it difficult to implement security measures. In addition, users of home networks, which is one of the IoT application scenarios, generally lack security knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary to build a security system that meets the requirements of IoT devices and reduces the burden on users. In this study, we proposed a system that can apply security measures to IoT devices while reducing the burden on users by applying the Manufacturer Usage Description (MUD), which defines and controls the communication of IoT devices, to a home network. The proposed system also monitors communication within the home network and isolates the offending device from the network when it is attacked, thereby minimising the damage caused by the attack. A simulation evaluation of the proposed system was conducted by constructing a virtual network simulating a home network, and it was shown that the system can maintain the security requirements in a home network. |
