Diversified-Range IoT (DR-IoT) communication system aims to efficiently utilize scarce frequency resources by selectively using over 1,000 channels with four different bandwidths of 6.25, 25,100 and 400 kHz to achieve a maximum communication rate of 320 kbps according to applications and communication distances.
In environments where multiple organizations using DR-IoT coexist, each organization must select different channels to reduce mutual interference.
We have previously proposed a method that dynamically assigns channels to organizations by correlating the physical location of nodes in physical space with their positions on the frequency axis using RSSI.
However, as the environment changes due to the movement of DR-IoT devices, the channels with less interference also change, making channel reassignment during device movement challenging.
In this paper, we clarify the necessity of channel reselection and switching in DR-IoT, identify the challenges, and propose a method to address these issues. |
