Proposal for a contactless personal authentication system using a Doppler sensor

(in English) Face recognition and fingerprint recognition have been widely used as personal authentication technologies in the past, but there is a growing demand for non-contact, privacy-preserving methods. In this study, we propose a new authentication technique that uses a Doppler sensor to acquire velocity changes associated with minute movements of fingerprints, and classifies and identifies them by machine learning using these velocity changes as feature values. Experiments were conducted on multiple subjects to verify the accuracy of the proposed method, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is reported.
