(in English) Dual Active Bridge (DAB) DC-DC converters, one of the bidirectional power converters, have a problem of deteriorating power efficiency at light loads. To solve this problem, triangular current control has been proposed. However, it has a problem that the maximum output power becomes smaller than the conventional control, and it is necessary to switch to the conventional control. During the switching of that control, the shape of the voltage applied to the transformer changes significantly, which may cause transient phenomena. The proposed control method switches between triangular current control at light loads, single-sided PWM control at medium loads, and phase control at heavy loads, thereby achieving high power efficiency in all load ranges and enabling seamless switching during control switching. In the actual device verification, operation checks and power efficiency comparisons were conducted at light, medium, and heavy loads.
