Our proposed high-frequency signal migration technique using optical time-stretch and compression allows the advantages of low-frequency technology to be leveraged to migrate signal frequency from the megahertz band to the high-frequency band beyond several tens of gigahertz, while maintaining the high vertical resolution performance provided by a conventional matured low-frequency technology. The proposed technique has the potential to realize higher frequency signal synthesis that are ideally not bound by the tradeoffs of power consumption, cost, and signal quality. In this talk, our recent results will be reported with this technique. |
