This paper proposes the configuration of an one-dimensional four-beam switching matrix utilizing directional couplers with smaller coupling ratios. By adopting directional couplers with smaller coupling ratios without using crossovers in the conventional configuration, the overall performance is improved. The design minimizes the total length of the matrix and avoids imbalance between the outputs. The structure employs directional couplers based on post-wall waveguide structure on a PTFE substrate and symmetrically arranged phase shifters. The designed results demonstrate that one of the proposed configurations exhibits particularly low reflection characteristics in the low-frequency range compared to the conventional configuration, confirming enhancements in bandwidth and overall performance. |
