(in English) LyricBathe is an MR environment using an optical see-through head-mounted display that aims to provide an immersive musical experience by displaying song lyrics synchronized with the music playback and enabling interaction with the user’s body and the physical world. Techniques that incorporate motion, rotation, or transformation into the visual representation of text, known as kinetic typography, are widely used. However, there is limited knowledge about the effects and utility of dynamic text representations in MR environments, especially when overlaid on real-world settings and in relation to the user’s body. This paper focuses on the core aspects of LyricBathe, particularly the representation of text and interactivity within the MR environment, synchronized with music. It aims to identify the factors constituting diverse visual interactivity leveraging bodily engagement—such as size, behavior, and manipulability of the text—and to explore design principles by understanding the design space from these perspectives.
