In Multi-Access Point coordination (MAPC) using Coordinated Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (C-OFDMA), non-coordinated APs (APs not subject to MAPC) face limited channel access, leading to reduced throughput. In this study, we propose a channel selection method for C-OFDMA that avoids the simultaneous use of channels used by coordinated APs (APs under control of MAPC) and non-cooperative APs. Specifically, we estimate the channel utilization probability of the non-coordinated APs, and prioritize the channels with low utilization probability to maintain the number of available channels for the non-coordinated AP. Simulations show that the proposed method improves the throughput of non-coordinated APs and the overall system, particularly in networks where coordinated and non-coordinated APs coexist. This method is especially beneficial for future high-density wireless LAN environments. |
