Space-time synchronization and Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) are key research areas that should be prioritized for 6G and Beyond 5G. It refers to a state where all nodes in a region stay synchronized, and each node knows its distance from nearby nodes. Recent advances in device technologies, such as reference signal oscillators, have significantly improved the accuracy of space-time synchronization. Space-time synchronization is expected to play a vital role in applications like Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and advancing other communication-related fields. This presentation will start with an overview of research and development trends in space-time synchronization. Next, it will cover the author's research on wireless communication systems using space-time synchronization, focusing on simultaneous connection technologies for multiple wireless terminals. Finally, it will discuss future expectations for 6G and Beyond 5G. |
