Report generation of chest X-ray images by LLM using RAG

(in English) Chest radiographs play an important role in the early detection and follow-up of many diseases. However, radiologists are burdened with the large number of chest X-ray images required for diagnosis. Therefore, it is useful to automatically generate radiology reports of chest X-ray images using a large-scale language model (LLM). However, while LLMs are trained on large datasets, it is very difficult to train new knowledge. Therefore, the objective of this study is to apply RAG (Retrieval Augmentation Generation) to obtain knowledge from external sources and generate radiology reports with higher accuracy. We evaluate the quality of the generated radiology reports using BLEU, ROUGE-L, and METEOR.
