(in English) Silica-based planar lightwave circuit (PLC) optical switches have been applied to CDC-ROADM systems which are widely used in long-distance communication networks, because of their advantages such as low loss, high extinction ratio, and high integration. In this paper, we describe the recent research on the PLC switches that can operate over the wide bandwidth
for expanding transmission capacity and on effort to reduce the power consumption of optical switches.
