The rapid adoption of EVs raises concerns about the increasing grid load at EV stations during peak hours of high charging demand. We have previously explored a system that allows EVs to trade electricity with each other at EV stations, effectively utilizing surplus electricity generated from solar energy and other renewable sources. Similarly, if a mechanism can be established that enables EVs to sell electricity to other EVs in need of charging during peak hours, it could potentially alleviate the grid load at EV stations during these periods. In this paper, we propose an EV-to-EV electricity transfer method, building on our electricity trading system, to reduce peak grid load at EV stations. Furthermore, through simulation experiments, we demonstrate that our proposed method allows the contracted power with the grid to be set at a relatively lower value than the peak grid load while still meeting EV charging demands. |
