(in English) The metaverse, which originated with Neal Stephenson’s ``Snow Crash'' and has been depicted in various science fiction works and games, represents a virtual world. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work and other factors have accelerated lifestyles that are independent of physical space, prompting humanity to extend its sphere of activity into virtual environments. The metaverse is characterized by bodily presence—the capacity for users to project their physical sensations, spatiality—the sharing of immersive three-dimensional spaces, and experiential immersion—the creation of engaging, all-encompassing experiences. This lecture will discuss the construction of a metaverse information infrastructure that embodies bodily presence, spatiality, and immersive experiences from both hardware and software perspectives. Furthermore, it will explore the future potential of metaverse applications by examining content on existing metaverse platforms.
