We are conducting research into ultra-wide area sensing platforms using low-orbit satellite MIMO technology and balloons. For atmospheric and ocean observations, we are considering a configuration to obtain data from marine buoys using low-orbit satellites and balloons via wireless communication in the 920MHz band. When designing wireless lines, it is necessary to set a margin that takes into account the effect of seawater on the antenna. Here, we report the results of an investigation into the effect of seawater on the frequency characteristics and beam patterns of dipole and monopole antennas using an electromagnetic field simulator based on the FEM method. In particular, we report on the characteristics when part or all of the antenna is submerged in seawater due to the effect of waves. |
