Development of an Automatic Mute System for Vocal Tics in Tourette's Syndrome -- Evaluating the Effect of the System on Conversations --

(in English) Tourette's Syndrome is a disorder characterized by sudden and repetitive movements and vocal tics that occur against the patient's will.
In particular, vocal tics can cause psychological stress and misunderstanding in conversations with others.
In this study, we propose and develop a system that detects vocal tics in real time and automatically mutes them as needed, aiming to create an environment in which Tourette's syndrome patients can participate in online communication with peace of mind.
The system is designed to reduce the psychological burden on patients and promote understanding by listeners, contributing to smoother conversations.
Furthermore, we evaluated the impact of the system on the comprehensibility of conversations and the impression of listeners.
