Air pollution, is one of the most critical environmental problems, monitoring can be done by ground observation or remote sensing, but ther
e are some issues with accuracy,
temporal resolution, and spatial resolution.
One way to provide temporal resolution is through citizen sensing.
In order to expand opportunities for citizen sensing, we focus on digital image data. %, which is relatively easy to obtain.
In this study, we aim to establish a method to estimate aerosol concentrations from the data.
In this paper, we use image data from a high-altitude fixed camera to attempt to estimate three classes of aerosol concentrations for patche
s %(local pixel groups)
cut out from blue sky areas.
In the experiments, five different angles of view for the high-altitude fixed camera were prepared, and image data acquired over a certain p
eriod was used.
The CIE xyY color space was used as pixel features. %, and these features were obtained for all pixels in the patch area.
%The features were learned/classified using a classifier.
Experimental results show that for vertically long patches, specifically, $1 times 300$,
classification accuracy was 76.39% on average. |
