Effect of Nonlinear Cancellation on Optimum Input Back-off in In-Band Full-Duplex Communication

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In-band full-duplex communication, a communication method that transmits and receives simultaneously in the same frequency band between two terminals, is a technology that can double the frequency utilization efficiency compared to frequency division duplex, which is a conventional communication method. However, there is a problem of self-interference in which the transmission signal to the destination terminal goes around to the receiving antenna of the own terminal and interferes with the desired signal from the destination terminal. In previous studies, the optimum input back-off was analyzed in the case where a linear canceller was used as the digital self-interference canceller. In this paper, we analyze the optimum input back-off when a non-linear canceller is used as the digital self-interference canceller, and evaluate the influence of the order of the canceller on the optimum input back-off by computer simulation and theoretical analysis.
