Radio waves are invisible. Therefore, it is difficult for people to feel familiar with them, and there are few opportunities to be interested in them. To overcome this situation, we visualize radio wave strength to trigger interest in the field of wireless communications among high school students who are considering their future careers. Specifically, we develop a system that classifies the radio wave strength measured by a user wearing a VR headset into five levels and visualizes them by creating objects with colors corresponding to the coordinates of the left controller. When visualizing the radio wave strength of multiple networks, each object is distinguished by the color of its border. This system achieves all of the following three important features for triggering interest in the field of wireless communications: real-time confirmation of the surrounding radio wave strength, easy understanding of the strength of the radio wave, and easy comparison with other networks. |
