This research aims to improve the isolation between input ports of a dual-band electromagnetic coupling-type microwave heating system. By improving the isolation between input ports, it is expected to enhance the heating efficiency when operating with cables connected to the two input ports. A method was examined to reduce the mutual coupling between two microstrip resonators that are set at a 1 mm distance on the same substrate in a 2.45 GHz/5.8 GHz device. Three vias were installed at the position where the electric field are zero in the half-wavelength resonators at 2.45 GHz, and two vias at the zero electric field positions in the full-wavelength resonators at 5.8 GHz. The transmission coefficients between the input ports were confirmed to be below −20 dB, indicating improved heating efficiency, as verified by electromagnetic field simulation and experimental results. |
