Remote Operation Support Using Third-party viewpoint holographic Hand-model

(in English) In recent years, remote assistance technologies based on real time video sharing are rapidly becoming popular for operations work in companies. As a result, even workers with little work experience can now easily carry out their work through support such as remote voice calls, video sharing, and pointers. In tasks that involve complex operations using hands, a method of displaying 3D holograms from the same perspective as the operator has been proposed and its effectiveness demonstrated, but there is room for improvement in the support methods. In this study, we developed a method to display the operator's hand model (hand gestures) at any location for the worker, and examined the usefulness and characteristics perceived by the worker. As a result, the usefulness was confirmed in challenging tasks involving object manipulation compared to conventional methods.
