Aerial ultrasonic testing is a non-destructive inspection method using ultrasonic waves. However, this method has a problem of low defect detectability due to the large reflection of ultrasonic waves on the object surface and low transmission into the interior. The authors have developed a broadband ultrasonic source that can be chirped driven in the frequency range of 20 kHz to 40 kHz and use signal processing to improve the above problems. In this paper, the aluminum film and ultrasonic actuator used in the broadband ultrasonic source are examined, and the ultrasonic source is driven at 40 kHz. The results showed that the vibration was amplified by the aluminum film. |
