In the next-generation Wi-Fi standard IEEE 802.11be, the "Multi-Link Operation (MLO)" feature has been introduced, which enables devices to be equipped with multiple wireless interfaces and simultaneously utilize multiple frequency bands. This allows for high-speed and low-latency communication. However, conventional performance analysis models for MLO networks have all assumed a network consisting only of MLO devices, making them inapplicable to networks where MLO devices coexist with legacy devices. This paper proposes the throughput analysis method that takes into account the coexistence of legacy devices in IEEE 802.11be MLO networks. We
model the combination of retransmission counts for the interfaces connected to each wireless link as states and construct a new Markov chain model considering state transitions. The validity of the proposed analytical method is demonstrated through comparison with simulation results. |
