ECDSA is a digital signature algorithm standardized in the NIST FIPS 186-5 Digital Signature Standard. In particular, a method for distributed processing of key generation and signature generation in ECDSA by multiple participants is called threshold ECDSA. A representative security notion when processing in a distributed manner by multiple participants is robustness, which ensures that even if an adversary behaves maliciously, the correct calculation results are always output to the honest participants without aborting the protocol. Wong et al. proposed a robust threshold ECDSA (NDSS'24). In this paper, we propose a novel threshold ECDSA that achieves robustness. While our scheme requires the same number of communication rounds as Wong et al.'s scheme, unlike Wong et al.'s scheme, our scheme does not require linearly homomorphic encryption. |
