Clustering and UAV Trajectory Length Optimization for UAV-Assisted Wireless Sensor Networks

(in English) The integration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with wireless sensor networks (WSNs) offers an approach to data collection and transmission in complex environments. However, the limited battery capacity of sensor nodes (SNs) and UAVs lead to challenges in improving energy efficiency and managing resource allocation. To address these issues, this study proposes an algorithm that design a multifactor fitness function and applies a strategy for clustering and cluster head (CH) selection. By considering factors such as distances from member nodes to CH, energy levels of CH, and UAV trajectory length, the algorithm uses a two-stage fitness function for the clustering and CH selection. Simulation results shows that the proposed algorithm reduces the average energy consumption of SNs.
