Reliability Consideration of Data Transmission Model with CSMA/CA in Wireless Environments

(in English) In wireless communication networks, where multiple devices share common network resources, it is important to avoid collisions that occur when multiple devices transmit data simultaneously. To address this issue, media access control is implemented, in which each device checks whether the wireless channel is idle before transmitting a frame.

In this paper, we consider a communication model that applies CSMA/CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance). That is, in order to avoid collisions, a client wait with a probability such that each terminal senses the availability of the wireless channel prior to frame transmission. We derive the mean time until packet transmissions succeed, and discuss an optimal policy analytically.
