We are developing communication technology using the Q/V band for next-generation space networks. One of the core technologies is a high-performance digital beamforming (DBF) transceiver system. This technology controls transmission and receive signals using digital signal processing with multiple antenna elements to form and emphasize beams in specific directions. This enables flexible and agile beam direction control and multi-beam formation, allowing for ultra-high-speed and large-capacity communication. However, the pitch between antenna elements in the Q/V band is narrow, necessitating high-density integration of the transceiver modules. In this report, we present the prototyping results of Q-band transmitter and V-band receiver modules adopting a direct digital RF transceiver configuration [1]-[10] that enables high-density integration. For an input signal with a symbol rate of 400MS/s and a modulation scheme of 64QAM, the transmitter module achieved excellent performance with an EVM of 1.4% and an SNR of 33.2dB at 40GHz. Similarly, the receiver module achieved excellent performance with an EVM of 4.2% and an SNR of 23.9dB at 51GHz. |
