At the outset of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Russia did not achieve the EMS dominance it was perceived to be cable of. As the war progressed both sides in the war have come to develop EW capabilities, tactics, techniques and procedures that have put EW at the leading edge on the frontlines. The European countries, and NATO have come to a (re)new(ed) appreciation of EW’s role on the modern battlespace. For the Nordic region in particular the collaboration on electromagnetic operations and EW is moving towards a comprehensive integration. |
