In Software Defined Storage(SDS), volumes are typically distributed across SDS configuration nodes, resulting in load balancing and optimized performance. When using SDS as a secondary system for asynchronous remote copying, if the mapping between primary and secondary volumes is not considered, volumes within the consistency group that constitutes the copy may be placed on specific nodes, leading to performance degradation due to load concentration after a failover. In this study, we propose a volume placement control method that evenly distributes the number of volumes within consistency groups across nodes, and verify its effectiveness by evaluating performance based on I/O characteristics. With the proposed method, users can maximize the performance of SDS without being aware of the nodes. |
