To enable communication services from high-altitude platform stations (HAPSs) in various locations, we focus on utilizing the unused band34 / n34 time division duplex (TDD) in Japan, combined with regenerative payloads that enable satellites to serve as backhaul alternatives to terrestrial gateway stations. Efficient use of the limited 15MHz bandwidth of band34 / n34 between adjacent HAPS requires exploring strategies beyond bandwidth partitioning, including suppressing interference while allowing full bandwidth access. In this paper, we propose an inverse synchronization method that reverses the uplink and downlink directions for synchronization between adjacent HAPS systems, showing that interference control can be maintained even without synchronization. Evaluation of co-channel interference among HAPS systems demonstrates that the proposed method improves overall throughput over conventional TDD synchronization methods. |
