A study of improving skipping fault correction attack on ML-DSA

(in English) This paper presents an efficient fault injection attack against ML-DSA, one of the signature algorithms for post-quantum cryptography (PQC), which has been standardized by NIST as FIPS204. The proposed attack is an extension of the Skipping Fault Correction Attack reported in 2024, and can reduce the number of error signatures required for the attack by using multiple simultaneous fault injections. Through emulation experiments using software implementations for ARM Cortex-M4, we show that the proposed method can possibly reduce the number of signatures required for secret key estimation to one
