This paper evaluates coplanar waveguides (CPWs) on polyimide substrates fabricated using production-level printed electronics (PE) technology with copper powders. Printed electronics technology involves printing metal powders onto substrates and forming metal patterns on the substrate, enabling the low-cost mass production of electronic circuits. However, there are few reported demonstrations of microwave circuits using printed electronics substrates. Therefore, in this study, measurements and evaluations of CPW were conducted up to 20 GHz. As a result, the transmission loss per millimeter at 20 GHz was found to be comparable to that of CPW lines formed on conventional substrates, such as Alumina, and those formed using inkjet-based manufacturing processes with silver particles. |
