(in English) The ICNIRP guidelines and IEEE standards define the specific absorption rate averaged over 10 g of tissue (10gSAR) and the absorbed power density (APD) as the basic restrictions for local exposure at frequencies below and above 6 GHz, respectively. In the current fifth-generation mobile communication system (5G), the primary frequency bands include the Sub-6 bands such as 3.7/4.5 GHz, as well as millimeter-wave bands. Moreover, 52.6–71 GHz bands are being considered for allocation. Since 4G and 5G technologies are commonly used in parallel in current communication environments, it is expected that multiple frequency bands governed by different metrics will be used simultaneously. While compliance assessments require the use of appropriate metrics for each frequency band, there are limited studies that evaluate the biological temperature rise for local exposure from multiple sources operating different frequency bands considering actual communication device models. In this study, we investigate the impact of antenna placement on the resulting temperature rise in biological tissue, assuming electromagnetic field exposure from a multi-antenna communication device operating at different frequency bands.
