Directional optical devices can be efficiently characterized using Coupled Mode Theory (CMT). However, when calculating phase mismatch and coupling coefficients based on isolated system modes, the accuracy may be insufficient in cases of strong coupling. This study investigates a method that utilizes only the supermodes of the coupled system to compute phase mismatch and coupling coefficients. Furthermore, we explore the integration of this approach with machine learning techniques for the optimal design of optical devices. |
