Recently, optical wireless communication has explored faster data transmission by using optical M-ary spread spectrum (M-ary/SS) systems with zero-correlation zone (ZCZ) sequence sets. However, this system requires a matched filter bank (MFB) to correlate the sequences, which increases implementation costs because of the large circuit size. Previous studies have proposed compact MFBs for optical ZCZ sequence sets with ZCZ sizes of $1$, $4n-2$, and $2^n$ (where $n$ is a natural number). On the other hand, a compact MFB for the optical ZCZ sequence set with the ZCZ size of $2^z(2n-1)$ (where $z$ is a natural number) has not been proposed. In this paper, we propose a compact MFB for the optical ZCZ sequence set with the ZCZ size of $2^z(2n-1)$. The proposed compact MFB decreases the number of adders and delay elements compared to the conventional MFB using parallel FIR filters. |
