Monitoring of RF-EMF Levels Using Car-mount Measurements around Major Cities in Japan Kaoru Esaki, Kazuhiro Tobita, Miwa Ikuyo, Masao Taki, Teruo Onishi (NICT) EMCJ2025-38 |

We have been conducting research to quantitatively understand the actual situation of RF-EMF exposure in daily life and to consider how risk communication should be conducted. It was reported that we measured the area within a radius of 100 km around Tokyo Nihonbashi in FY2021, and confirmed that the E-field strength from mobile phone base stations is positively proportional to the population density. In this manuscript, the results of measurements in six major cities (Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka) and their surrounding areas in FY2022, and in nine regional cities (mainly government-designated cities) and central Tokyo in FY2023, expanding the measurement area nationwide are reported. As our previous results, it is confirmed that the E-field strength tends to be higher in the center of each city and lower in the suburbs and mountainous areas, and that there is a positive proportional relationship between the E-field strength and population density. |
