Fundamental Study of Multipath Data Transfer with Handover Prediction for Lowering Jitter in LEO Satellite Constellations

(in English) In communication networks utilizing low Earth orbit satellite constellations, handovers between ground terminals and satellites occur frequently due to satellite movement, so maintaining communication using multiple paths is effective. However, out-of-order data arrival from multiple paths increases jitter. In this study, we propose a data distribution method called Prediction-based Arrival-Time matching Load-Balancing (P-ATLB) that aligns data arrival times using predicted values of delay and path disconnection times. Simulation results show that P-ATLB enables data to arrive in the order they were sent during handovers, thereby lowering jitter.
