A study on chromaticity modulation combining discrete cosine transform in digital signage and image sensor-based visible light communication

(in English) Digital signage is expected to provide not only visual information, but also data information by visible light communication through the image sensors of mobile devices. Images on which data signals superimposed are displayed on the digital signage and captured by the image sensor for communication. In order to avoid degrading visual quality, it is necessary to enable communication even with weak signal intensity. In this research, in addition to using chromaticity components that are difficult for humans to recognize the superimposed data signal, we aim to improve the communication quality by superimposing the data signal in a low-frequency region that is less likely to be lost even when captured from a long distance by performing discrete cosine transformation (DCT).
