Fast Personalized Gragh Summarization by Random Walk Control

(in English) A summary graph is used for the space cost reduction of graph analysis, however, it leads to the lower accuracy of the analysis because it performs a rough analysis. To summarize a graph with personalization according to the interest of the user, we can reduce the space cost of the graph analysis while having little impact on the accuracy of the analysis. The existing method, PeGaSuS, requires a computation over the entire graph for each interest node to create a personalized summary graph, which leads to a long computation time. To address this problem, we propose a method that changes the way of personalized summarization to enable pre-computation and achieve fast personalized summarization. The method generates a personalized summary graph by replacing part of the summary graph with the original graph according to the interest node of the user, and calculates the correspondence between the summary graph and the original graph in advance to speed up the computation. We evaluated the execution time of personalized summarization using real-world graph datasets, and showed that our method is up to $3.14 times 10^5$ times faster than PeGaSuS.
