Declarative programming of collaboration tools using the distributed information sharing service Madoi

(in English) To develop a collaboration tool that allows multiple users to work together, in addition to the functionality of the tool itself, it is necessary to implement a function that sends and receives user operations and ensures information consistency to share the state of application objects. Since the states to be shared and the communication technology to be used differ from tool to tool, generic implementation such as reusable component is difficult, and the implementation cost of information sharing functions is a bottleneck in the development of collaboration tools. In this paper, we propose a mechanism to extend the existing distributed information sharing service so that information sharing functions in collaboration tools can be implemented with only declarative descriptions of the information to be shared and its behavior. We also verify the feasibility and practicality of the proposed mechanism by applying it to a actual collaboration tool.
