The Reality and Future Prospects of Network Environments in the Social Implementation of Information Systems in Childcare Facilities

(in English) Childcare facilities play a certain role in Japan's measures to address the declining birthrate. However, there is a shortage of childcare workers, who are central to the operation of these facilities. We have been working to reduce the workload of childcare workers by implementing information systems. To date, we have improved transportation services for after-hours childcare and attendance management for childcare workers. In particular, for after-hours childcare transportation, we have implemented functions tailored to the characteristics of each facility, such as authentication methods for parents and notification methods when transportation is provided. On the other hand, this information system requires internet connectivity, but the network environment of childcare facilities is weak. We have made revisions as needed. In this paper, we report on the social implementation case and discuss the network environment.
