Performance of Uplink Heterogeneous Network with UAV Relay Station

(in English) In this report the performance of multi-user signal reception in the uplink of a heterogeneous network (HetNet) with an unmanned ariel vehicle (UAV) relay station (RS). In prior research, the performance of the assumed UAV RS when the terminal locations are fixed. If multiple terminals are distributed in a cell the UAV position for multi-user signal reception characteristics are evaluated in different radio environments when the proposed scheme is using the UAV as an amplified-and-forward RS. Numerical results obtained through computer simulation show that the proposed scheme improves the overall system throughput and user fairness compared to the conventional scheme. Moreover, the proposed scheme works better in an urban environment than in a highrise urban environment.
