(in English) Large-scale computing systems that support generative AI are an indispensable part of modern society's infrastructure. Data transfer between servers using optical communication technology is a fundamental operation of such a system, requiring an extremely large communication bandwidth. Among the modules used for this purpose, pluggable transceivers, which are replaceable and easy to maintain, as well as Co-Packaged Optics (CPOs), which integrate optical devices into semiconductor packages to achieve higher edge density, are gaining significant attention. We have been advancing research and development on Electro-Absorption Modulator Integrated Laser Diodes (EMLs) as 400Gbps-class modulators, as well as their assembly technology for these applications. This panel will present our progress and discuss with prospects.
