(in English) High-altitude platform stations (HAPS), operated in the stratosphere at an altitude of approximately 20 km, can deliver wide-area coverage while maintaining direct links with mobile devices. Consequently, extensive research and development is under way to accelerate their practical deployment. This paper outlines our activities of the research item, “Development of Spectrum-Sharing Technologies between HAPS Service Links and Terrestrial Networks,” within the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) Innovative ICT Fund project for Beyond 5G/6G entitled “Research and Development of HAPS Communication Technologies for Ultra-Wide-Area, High-Capacity Mobile Networks Beyond 5G.”
